Large Washington District Switches From Sub-Calling Box to Aesop

EXTON, Pa. - May 4, 2011 - Northshore School District, in Bothell, Wash., is switching to Aesop for automated substitute placement and absence management.

The district previously used a sub-calling box provided by eSchool Solutions, but decided to transfer their more than 1,500 employees to Aesop, the leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider of absence and attendance management solutions.

By switching to Aesop, Northshore School District will no longer need to support hardware or software at the district. Rather, the application is hosted entirely by Aesop, and district personnel can access it via phone and web from anywhere at any time.

In addition to SaaS, Northshore will also benefit from Aesop's unique "multi-district substitute" feature, which allows districts using Aesop to share substitutes with their neighboring districts. This feature promotes efficient substitute placement by saving the time spent calling substitutes who are already scheduled to work. Districts using this feature also see a reduction in "job shopping," by preventing substitutes from cancelling out of assignments last-minute to accept a position in a nearby district.

Northshore will also be integrating Aesop with their payroll system, SunGard BusinessPlus, saving hours spent hand-keying redundant data.
